Post-Trash's Mid-Year Report: Our Favorites Releases of 2022 (January thru June)
We present our “Mid-Year Report," a comprehensive guide to our favorite releases of the first half of this year, without any pre-determined length or insignificant rankings. If we’re into it, we're including it (unless we plumb forgot it or just haven’t spent enough time with it… which happens, in which case our sincerest of apologies).

Pet Fox - "A Face In Your Life" | Album Review
A Face in Your Life is their third full length and on this record the music continues to smolder with shockingly complex songwriting and a wonderfully flexible approach. There are tinges of early-mid 90's Dischord Records influences here but with a little more apparent vulnerability, interesting textures, and jazzy moments that spring up unexpectedly.

Pet Fox - "More Than Anything" | Album Review
More Than Anything, the trio’s latest EP, is in line with their previous releases, but this time around, they keep the songs shorter, sweeter, and embedded with a tried-and-true, upbeat indie energy. Theo Hartlett’s vocals and songwriting may be what’s most remarkable here, as there’s a natural progression in his approach that entices.

Pet Fox - "Swerving" | Post-Trash Premiere
Pet Fox’s admission of impatience is telling, “Swerving” is less than 90 seconds long. However, in that minute-and-a-half, the band are able to squeeze in a lot: several different musical phrases, one of their strongest vocal melodies to date, a metaphorical narrative, a lead guitar solo/outro, and a killer leaning chord progression.

Pet Fox - "Be Alone" Video | Post-Trash Premiere
Never separate an astronaut and their space dog, it’s a rule as old as time… and if it’s not, it damn well should be. Boston’s Pet Fox, the trio of Theo Hartlett (Ovlov), Morgan Luzzi (Ovlov), and Jesse Weiss (drums), understand this and they explore the great lengths one will go to be reunited with their best canine friends in their latest video.
