As anyone who reads our “Fuzzy Meadows” column already knows, the “list” is just the beginning, and we’re always eager to add some “Further Listening” for consideration. Despite what some would have you believe, music is not a contest. We profiled many records in our “Year In Review” feature, but the fun doesn’t stop there.
One of the few silver linings of the lockdown was the formation of Rider/Horse, a pairing of Kingston, NY musicians Cory Plump (Spray Paint) and Chris Turco (Trans Am), whose chugging, electro-noise debut was one of the finest albums of 2021. The band returns with a more dense, varied and fully-formed LP, Feed ‘Em Salt.
Kingston, NY duo Rider/Horse ain’t no one trick pony, as they prove on their second album, Feed ‘Em Salt. The pairing of Cory Plump (Spray Paint, Winged Wheel) and Chris Turco (Les Savy Fav, Trans Am) have headed back to the swarm, to bring us their next chapter, one that is constantly rattled, repetitive, and eerily engaging.
In the two years since Austin’s Spray Paint released their last album, the band members have stayed busy releasing others projects that include the great Spiritual Mafia and During. You can now add Rider/Horse to the list, the latest effort from Spray Paint’s Cory Plump together with Chris Turco (Les Savy Fav, Trans Am).
