Bruise Bath - "Blood on My Tongue" | Post-Trash Premiere

by Pat Pilch (@apg_gomets)

Philadelphia’s Bruise Bath make heavy rock music in a catch-all sense, but tune to a brutal earnestness that abandons any pidgeon-holing genre platitudes. Today, we’re thrilled to premiere “Blood on My Tongue” off Bruise Bath’s upcoming self-titled full length.

Formed and refined over the past decade, Bruise Bath has contained a multitude of members and iterations centered around Zak Krone. The songwriter’s experience working in a homeless shelter has been a direct influence on the content, style, and sound of Bruise Bath, but the distinct charm in is the opacity of Bruise Bath’s lyrics.

“Nextyear I will finally be myself / But what have I done to my beautiful body?” Krone laments on “Blood on My Tongue,” a line part of a poem up for personal interpretation. It’s a sober first taste of the Bruise Bath’s best record yet.

Bruise Bath is out later this year via Strange Mono. Listen to “Blood on My Tongue” below:
