by Thax Douglas (THAX: The Movie)
On Sunday, February 1st, three of the Midwest’s best took the stage in a packed Chicago basement. TV Buddha, Artificial Go, and Good Flying Birds put on the most excellent show in recent memory,
At the show, poet Thax Douglas preceded each band’s set with an original work inspired by each performer. We chatted, I took a couple pictures, asked if he’d like to have these poems on Post-Trash, and violà. Please enjoy these original works from Thax Douglas and catch these spectacular bands when they come to your town.

Ewoks littering
The tree like
Garbage yet uncombed
Through by crows -
The tree is in a
Peculiar state of
Indecision, is
It a home with
No requirements
For membership, or
A department
Store, a kind of
Orphanage - only
The crows’ll
Decide if they
Ever get here…

There’s no limit to the
Stop signs’ breeding
Since they seem to take
To the moist loam a
Beautiful
Holographess blew
Them to in their
Last movie…even
Though there’s no room left for
Anything to stop
There’s no stopping
The stop signs
From stopping
Everything
Except their
Non-stop breeding -
Maybe this poem’ll
Act as a mirror
And they’ll be
Ashamed by it
I doubt it…
Good Flying Birds

A whole jewelry
Store condensed
Into one heart,
A glint
Escaping when
The pores
Open like tiny
Wounds in
The skin just
A bore that
Heart - these
Glints act like flashlights
All through
The body
But unfortunately
Their
Training specialized
In
Beautification, they
Wouldn’t know
Cancer if it bit
‘Em in the beams.
