Nottingham’s No Peeling spent Christmas Eve recording S/T, their upcoming Feel It Records debut. Christmas came early, because S/T is the gift that keeps giving. “7 songs, 8 minutes, 451 ideas” reads the band’s 3-line bio. Play it once and you just might miss it; best run that shit back.
Today, Post-Trash is thrilled to premiere “Can I Pet That Dog?,” the lead single from No Peeling’s debut. Twitchy, charming, and unnerving, No Peeling throw the kitchen sink at the wall, and it all sticks. The band’s hyperactive noise punk hits like a wired toddler who somehow keeps making surprisingly good points.
“Can I Pet That Dog?” is remarkably catchy, though hardly telegraphs its movements like a traditional pop song. If we crunch the numbers, each song on No Peeling’s debut contains roughly 64.42 ideas per track. Take a listen and try to catch them all:
