As we all head into the weekend, we’re happy to share a few of our favorite new releases, out this week (in splendid alphabetical order). The write-ups are all kept brief and bite sized, snippets to catch your interest. There’s a lot of great music out every week and these are just some of the many we think you should check out.

Beige Palace, purveyors of brilliant droning art punk and noise rock, called it a day back in May, playing their final show less than a year after the release of their great second album. For all of us who couldn't be in attendance, they've captured the entire set on a new live record. Every throbbing moment of the abrasive, unnerving, and surprisingly heartfelt set lives on, a testament to their fantastically discordant power. Beige Palace forever.

Surprise! In Dreams, a brand new album from Duster is out today. The band's second chapter continues with their third album since reuniting, mining the celestial tranquility that has made them a staple for a whole new generation of fans clamoring for slow dripped lo-fi. In Dreams is big on mood, big on cosmic atmosphere, big on Duster's out of focus glory. Songs like "No Feel" sit amongst the band's best work.

Spirit Level, the latest EP from Melbourne's It Thing, is a howling art punk record built on surging repetition and the unmistakable vocals of Charlotte Gigi, her voice a delightfully commanding presence. A ten minute blast of technicolor post-punk and rattled intensity, the band contort between blistering velocity and swooning drifts.

Aprender A Ser: Extended is a companion piece to last year's Aprender A Ser, a chance for Mexico City's Mint Field to further explore the sound and atmosphere's of their dreamy experimentation. Diving into a haze of shoegaze, trip-hop, and electronic pop influences, Mint Field sound locked in, able to shift on a dime from one gorgeous texture to the next, there songs triumphantly unpredictable.

Wild God, the latest from Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds is a joyous record... or at least as joyous as a modern Nick Cave album gets. It's not exactly boisterous like the early days, but it's certainly sweeping and lush, with choral arrangements and earnest feelings of love. The band sound alive and rejuvenated on their most bombastic album in over a decade.

Brooklyn's Oceanator returns with Everything is Love and Death, the third full length from Elise Okusami's band. Built on massive songs and sparkling studio recordings, this is apocalypse pop for the stadiums, written with enormous hooks and a radio friendly sheen, swerving between soaring grunge and shimmering alternative rock.

Fresh off the release of Finom's fantastic new album, Sima Cunningham makes her solo debut with High Roller, a stunning record of artistic folk and impactful Americana. Full of depth even when minimally composed, Cunningham weaves together astounding melodies, gentle reflections, and dreamy dynamics on an impressive record that demands repeat listens.
