Charlotte, NC’s Alright have been releasing singles and EPs consistently since 2014 and after six years of waiting, the band are finally released to share their full length debut, I’m Doing This To Myself. Due out on August 28th via Self Aware Records (Bangzz, Naked Naps, Totally Slow), the title reflects the fact that the band are looking inward with this release, focusing their fuzzy brand of punk and pop on “advocating for, and antagonizing, themselves for the sake of art.” Led by guitarist/vocalist Sarah Blumenthal and produced by Kyle Pulley (Kississippi, Thin Lips), Alright’s debut is a testament to patience and taking their time to get everything right.

Having already shared singles, “Scraps,” “Parallels,” and “Lapse,” today the band share the album’s fourth single, “Dewdrops,” a sweetly punch song that deals with memories that stick with you forever, as Blumenthal sings, “late at night when I can’t fall asleep I’m reliving every moment I can’t forget / I’m not keeping count, I’m just sorting it out / and every one knows better than me how to weather the storm.” It’s a sentiment that we all feel from time to time, like maybe we’re doing it wrong. As Blumenthal concedes that she is getting in her own way, the song floods open to a crunchy guitar riff and a call and response hook with bandmate Josh Robbins.
