Musician and comedian Jen Kwok has created three luscious, meditative songs that have been accompanied by some stunning visuals for her new Songs for One EP. Apparently, Songs for One began as a live series where she performed intimate, interactive concerts for one person at a time, not unlike the mythos that surrounded one Keaton Henson back when he was relevant.

The Songs for One visual EP is a collection of favorites from the live Songs for One project. Kwok’s frequent collaborator, Jody Shelton, built lush, electronic orchestras around the melodies and lyrics of the original Songs for One songs, and Kwok collaborated with a team of woman animators to create videos to accompany the fleshed-out tracks.

The EP’s highlight is “Deep Down,” with its chanting, repetitive vocals buoyed by a shifting and colorful image of a coastline animated by Leese Katsnelson. All three tracks are worth viewing, as each one has a distinct style, and defined narrative.
