In the brilliantly weird new Adam Murphy-directed video for Perhapsy's wistful single "Neverending Story," the project's helmer Derek Barber is depicted as a zealot TV preacher selling religion to desperate viewers looking for help, complete with the phone number "1-800-555-JBUS" at the bottom of the screen for easy access. The video for the single from the Oakland-based songwriter’s latest album Kingdom Starlight Bliss flips between images of Barber's brainwashed disciples  wearing tin foil hats while manning the phone lines, vintage cinematography, real footage of past events, and a forest-dwelling vagabond who seems to be the only one who doesn't buy into his sermon. The loose-yet-poignant narrative and absurd combination of images lend a bit of levity to Barber's emotionally driven songwriting and it all comes together in a strangely satisfying way.

Perhapsy’s Kingdom Starlight Bliss is out November 23rd via Porch Party Records.
