Time Thief is the new project from Zoe Wyner (halfsour) and James Walsh (Dump Him) out of Providence, RI and we are proud to premiere the video for their latest single “A Brief History of Ordinary Let Downs” off their upcoming self titled debut EP. Wyner produced the video — a collage of decaying and imposed shots of various friends and people over the top with scenic shots from trains and other motor vehicles.
Time Thief play a jangling and sharp pop with hooks reminiscent of numerous Sarah Records and bands like Tiger Trap/early Guided by Voices with a little bit of a more pronounced backbone and the same wistful melancholy accentuated by Walsh’s heartfelt and full vocals. The guitars churn as bounce and weave between the nimble bass-work of Wyner as the energy level is pushed and pulled along with the cascading vocals. Time Thief are a band to watch out for around the Northeast and should be appreciated for their honest and timeless appreciation for tasteful harmonies and sweet yet sour power pop.
