Dog Lips - "Gush" | Post-Trash Premiere

by Pat Pilch (@apg_gomets)

Portsmouth’s Dog Lips hardly believe in down-time. Since 2022, they’ve been ripping up the East Coast DIY circuit, reveling in their signature balance of mayhem and cool. The band’s forthcoming Strange Mono debut Danger Forward is a blistering record, raw and melodic in its fuzzy blend of hard rock and post-punk. With track names like “Brain Feeder,” “Human Hybrid,” and “Voicemail Bombthreat,” Dog Lips songs are as swankily playful as they are chaotically urgent. Think Royal Headache with a case of TMJ, or Glue at their most anthemic.

Today Post-Trash is thrilled to premiere “Gush,” the incredibly catchy first helping of Danger Forward. According to the band, the lead single is “a song about hitting drums hard,” which, yes.

Like all Strange Mono releases, proceeds from tapes and downloads are directed to a charity of the artist’s choice. 100% of Danger Forward’s tape and digital proceeds will go straight to the New Hampshire Community Bail Fund to help free people unjustly detained in ICE detention centers in Dover, NH and Plymouth, MA.

Danger Forward is out August 22 via Strange Mono. Fuck ICE and listen to “Gush” below:
