Merli Armisa - "KOTO" / "Al cader della giornata" | Post-Trash Premiere

by Pat Pilch (@apg_gomets)

Michele Boscacci aka Merli Armisa makes hazy, homespun dream pop. The Sondrio, Italy-based guitarist’s off-kilter tunes hit just out of focus, brimming with a lo-fi microtonalities that bring a dynamic edge to the genre’s hypnagogic textures. Today, we’re excited to premiere Merli Armisa’s excellent new double single “Koto”/“Al Cader Dela Giornata,” which is officially out tomorrow, April 25th on Dischi Sotterranei.

Recorded at home with additional percussion tracked at Bleach Recording Studio, these two new tracks completely dilate Merli Armisa’s sound. With the help of Giacomo Ferrari (drums), Beatrice Cervi (bg vox), and Carlo Luciano Porrini (bass), the bedroom musician blows out the walls of his shoegaze-indebted pop with a wider palette and sharper melodic focus. Both tracks are great, but “Koto” is especially mesmerizing and will pique the interest of Parranoul and Alex G fans alike. Take a listen to both below:
