Suped Up - "No Ghost No Problem" | Post Trash Premiere

by Pat Pilch (@apg_gomets)

Richmond duo Suped Up is former Antiphons lead Brian Dove and Diet Cig drummer Noah Bowman. The band’s super-charged super-pop is first-thought, best thought in action. Suped Up delivers clear, high-energy songwriting with immediate melodic tilt by way of twitchy, ear-worming ditties. Their self-titled full length is out April 25 via Hilltop Recordings (Young Scum, Drug Country, Gnawing), and we’ve got an exclusive premiere of the second single.

“No Ghost No Problem” is an existentialist plea for complete nonexistence: not now, not later, not ever. “And this skin I’m in is all I have / and when it’s gone I will be nothing / Finally,” Dove declares over up-tempo power pop action. “When I go / Don’t wanna be a ghost.” The song comes in just under 90 seconds and could honestly serve as a T.V. jingle for a sitcom on the astral plane.
