Nashville singer-songwriter Vivienne Blue makes Americana-pop for hopeless romantics. Blue’s got two killer singles to her name so far, and we’re thrilled to premiere her third. “Always on My Mind” is a burning post-break up ballad, a song that sounds pulled right from the Laurel Canyon golden era. There’s a little Nancy Sinatra, a little Linda Ronstadt, and a whole lotta Carole King.
Produced by Preston Cochran (Suki Waterhouse, Lucy Dacus, Ashe), “Always on My Mind” is a post-breakup track, an airing of sorrow and remembrance to love lost. Here’s what Blue says about “Always On My Mind”:
“Heartbreak can be filled with rage, but love lies beneath that. I wanted to capture the tender feelings that still linger after a separation. This song is my grief stamped in time. A balance between lamenting the long, hard nights of an ending blended with the nostalgia of remembering better times between us.”
Definitely be sure to check out this year’s “A Little Bit Off” and the stunning “JC Superstar.”
