“Bare Minimum” is the latest release from Alexander, the Boston-based project led by musician and educator Alex Fatato, the third single from his upcoming self-released LP, Lucky Life, coming out April 5th. The song is a loud, somber track with introspective lyrics highlighting the moment you knew you could and should be better. Self-awareness is the central thread that lingers throughout the song with lines like, “I look for loops of applause for doing the bare minimum” and “giving myself the space to pity the person I helped myself become.” He captures these gut-wrenching moments when he comes to terms with where you are and reconciles with yourself.
Alexander has brought out these complex emotions of self-actualization into a beautiful song. Though the lyrics seem melancholy, the track symbolizes the first step to becoming a better person through coming to terms with yourself. The track was recorded at Big Nice Studio all in one take with Bradford Krieger (producer, engineer) on lead guitar, Mijael Maratuech (Joyer) on bass, John Carney on keys, and Adam Berkowitz (Kal Marks, Ex-Breathers, Mulva) on drums. Be sure to check out Lucky Life, which releases on April 5th!
