It’s the Climax Landers! The New York super crew are back with their first full length in six years. Zenith No Effects is out May 10 via “The Big Three” aka Gentle Reminder, Home Late, and Intellectual Birds Records. Today, Post-Trash is thrilled to premiere the first single “Play it Cool,” a tense and subdued number a few simmering moments from boil. It never quite bubbles over, leaving the listener with a comically absurd collage of agitation and unease.
Climax Landers is built around the friendship, harmony, and love between its talented, prolific members. Originally formed to play Old Table songs, the group soon realized this lineup was something totally new. Will Moloney (Old Table), Ani Ivry-Block (Palberta, Shit Love), Paco Cathcart (The Cradle), and Charlie Dore-Young (Sweet Baby Jesus) are Climax Landers–the NYC DIY supergroup. Ask them to play in your city, your town, or your house.
You didn’t hear it from me, but Climax Landers have an excellent record on the way. If this is your first time becoming familiar with this crew, I recommend exploring the band’s back catalog and each members’ other projects. Climax Landers vocalist Will Moloney has written some of the most brutal, radicalizing, and hilarious music of the 21st century, and the lyrics on “Play it Cool” are just as silly, pretty, and fun to read.
Keep your eyes and ears peeled for Zenith No Effects when it’s out May 10th. In the meantime check out “Play it Cool” below:
