Talking Kind - "Trouble" (feat. Radiator Hospital & The Goodbye Party) Video | Post-Trash Premiere

Talking Kind is a new indie-pop solo project of Pat Graham, the Philadelphia-based musician best known as the frontman of the emo revival trio Spraynard, or more recently, the guitarist of power-pop quartet Big Nothing. Barely over a year since the latter’s latest album Dog Hours, Graham unveiled Talking Kind with the release of the folky “Damn Shame” in May, and then “Trouble” last week. His full-length debut as Talking Kind, titled It Did Bring Me Down, is due out September 8th via Lauren Records.

“Trouble” is a light and hooky indie rock track, not quite twee, but certainly not aggressive either. The melodic bass immediately takes center stage, locking in with simple folk-rock drums and acoustic guitar strums. Graham describes how he’s “in trouble all of the time,” because he’s the talking kind, hence the band name. Radiator Hospital’s Sam Cook-Parrott and The Goodbye Party’s Michael Cantor join him to sing, and in the video, shot and edited by Gabrielle Eisenhower, the three of them are shown kicking around a flea market in Philadelphia. It’s a fittingly lo-fi and low-key visual to match a partially home-recorded track about not being bothered by the trouble you might get yourself into.
