A Canadian Craigslist miracle was brought upon us with the formation of SWiiMS during of the stress of the beginning of the Covid pandemic. Their 2020 debut EP, Through Waves, captured sounds of nostalgia listeners can hear themselves based upon their own interests, making it safe to label SWiiMS a band for everyone to enjoy. They continue to evolve their sound with their upcoming album Into The Blue Night. Along with their excellent instrumentalism comes tracks drenched in thoughtful songwriting, leaving listeners to want more. Mai Diaz Langou notes it’s about: "...the beginning stages of a relationship - how you try to make yourself more intriguing or impressive than you are in order to keep that person interested. The feeling of hopefulness, bliss, and loss of control that the start of any new relationship brings."
SWiiMS debuts their latest album with the single "All I Die For," which highlights the twinkling sounds of the band and the large concept of love throughout the album's tracks. Through ethereal riffs and Slowdive-esque whispers, "All I Die For" conveys the emotions of a hopeless romantic as lyrics describe the will to transform into different puzzle pieces in order to always fit into another person's life. Despite how dull life actually can feel, love is described to be worth it enough to paint everything brighter within "All I Die For". The single is paired with a music video for fans to enjoy as we wait for the full album release in November. Indulge yourself in SWiiMS and keep tabs on the release of Into The Blue Night via Mint 400 Records.
