The Eurosuite - "BODY" | Post-Trash Premiere

by Dan Goldin (@post_trash_)

London no-wave punks The Eurosuite first emerged in the salad days of the pandemic, back when vaccines were soon to be a reality and the world seemed like it would resume. Their debut album, Hot Off Depress, didn’t exactly embrace any sense of optimism, but the dread and carnage of the times is imbued deep in the band’s caustic noise. With a line-up that includes current and former members of USA Nails, Nitkowski, and Cower among others, the band embrace a realm of digitally manipulated chaos and screeds of distortion, thrashing through one wall of sound to be spit back into another. The quartet return with Sorry, a new record due out March 3rd via Human Worth (Fucking Lovely, Belk, Remote Viewing), an album that feels like a sonic tour-de-force with the intention of rearranging our brains like a jolt of electricity to the skull.

Lead single “BODY” doesn’t exactly build tension but instead arrives at full blast, already deep in the carnage, and works its way into dynamic moments of (relative) calm. With a stampeding snare that marches into glitched out mutation, the beat goes from primal to alien, warping and squirming before the synths come shooting across our eardrums, pitch shifted and piercing, with the kind of sordid groove reminiscent of The Locust or Psychic Graveyard. Daniel Holloway’s vocals are filtered beneath effects, howling into the noisy abyss with an unglued energy, “deeper and deeper” into the mouth of the storm and the bent static decimation.

As with all Human Worth releases, a portion of album sales are donated to a charity of the band’s choosing. The Eurosuite will be donating 10% of proceeds to Southall Black Sisters, a leading organization for black and minority women and girls in the UK.
