The True Faith - "Feet Held to the Fire" | Post-Trash Premiere

Fans of bands such as Night Sins, Old Moon, and The Cure, assemble! One of Boston's best alternative bands, The True Faith’s upcoming LP, Go To Ground, is just around the corner in January 2023. The True Faith originated as a solo project of Travis Benson (vocals/guitar) with the emergence of an industrial, haunting sound. After the release of Benson’s self-titled demo, á La Carte Records swiftly grabbed for The True Faith's attention. Their debut EP, As Much Nothing As Possible, evolved into more of an 80's synth-pop sound, making you feel like a classic-goth in a prom dress.

After the first single release "Minimal Change" from the upcoming LP, The True Faith has thrown us another solid track titled "Feet Held To The Fire". The song was impressively written after wrapping up the recording of They Can Always Hurt You More. Benson shared:

“'Feet Held To The Fire' was the first song that was written for the new album. We had just wrapped up the recording of They Can Always Hurt You More when we started working on this track. The song is ultimately about accountability - holding ourselves accountable and being accountable to others. This entire album came at a major transitional point for us - not only as a band but in our own individual lives - and each song really highlights an experience felt at the time.”

"Feet Held To The Fire" immediately gives you a floating sensation and feeling of romanticizing heartbreak through Benson's yearning vocals which perfectly contrast with The True Faith's iconic melodic synth. The "Feet Held To The Fire" single also features the “Topographies Remix”. The slowed-down, lo-fi sounds of the remix make it impossible to choose a favorite rendition between the two. The two singles are absolutely beyond expectation, making us anticipate the rest of the album.
