It’s been over two years since Minneapolis’ Tongue Party released their latest album, Looking For A Painful Death, but the band are still working to spread the word about it. Released in the Spring of 2018 via Learning Curve Records (Blacklisters, Reptoid, New Primals), the record is a bastion of primal noise rock and serrated punk. The band went on a short tour this year (back when that was still a possibility) and have spent the rest of this year rallying against the police (as we all should). Now, they return with a music video for “I Can Shit Anywhere,” a track from the aforementioned album.

The video captures a selection of the worst American individuals, those who lean toward the far right, only this time they’re protesting Tongue Party. It’s a clever reimagining of society, one whose only concern seems to be bringing down the band, through protest signs that range from “Shame On Learning Curve” to “Their’s A Concept: It’s Called Harmoney” (incorrect spelling and grammar included) and “Choose A Fucking Tempo.” It’d funny if only the reality wasn’t so depressing, but Tongue Party make for a nice, brutal, soundtrack to fight against the powers that be and the systemic oppression that comes with it.
