We’re excited to premiere “Washed Out Blue,” the new single from the Toronto-based band Feels Fine. On their latest song, the trio builds off of their stellar 2018 EP At Home with some more fervent emo-punk that’ll give you chills. Right from the get-go, the song conjures the kind of raw feelings and heartfelt emotions that played a pivotal role in the classic emo sound of the mid-to-late 1990s. The guitars on “Washed Out Blue” have a distinctly mid-west emo feel that’s warmly reminiscent of The Jazz June or Rainer Marina, and mix nicely with some light cymbal crashes. The song also features some gorgeous harmonies and sweet melodies that pack an emotive punch with lyrics that expound on cyclical feelings of anxiety and fear of loss. Further sending home the song’s powerful message is its grand ending, as it’s punctuated by some impassioned screams with a backdrop of brass.
“Washed Out Blue” will appear on the band’s forthcoming album, Grip, which is out on August 29th via Art of The Uncarved Block.
