Welcome to Pop 40 Town, baby. The sights! The sounds! The, err, more sounds! Take it all in, because we’re only here for a few short tracks, but damn are those tracks gold. This is Lorelei released a pair of EPs and a healthy handful of loosies this year, then Nate Amos probably said something like, “Despite releasing a pair of EPs and a healthy handful of loosies this year, I am going to release another This is Lorelei EP called Pop 40 Town and it will be co-produced by Lily Konigsberg.” He probably said that, I don’t know.
Pop 40 Town is premiering on Post-Trash today (that’s today). And Post-Trash is the only place you will be able to hear these songs (four of them, count ‘em!) until they’re available to stream on Bandcamp and whatsitcalled-ify on December 9th. We got all four cuts for your exclusive listening pleasure right here. That’s right, baby, these are thick cuts. There’s a MIDI-string waltz (“Sick Plan”), a twangy country flirt (“And You Call Yourself a Liar”), even a pining ballad crooner (“Losing for Two”) and whatever the hell you want to call that killer opening track (it’s called “Wait Til I Turn Bad Again”). These songs are "demos that kinda fell off the cart” of a super special, super secret project on the horizon. My lips are sealed but that sounds exactly like something Nate Amos would say.
Listen to Pop 40 Town below and be on the lookout when the EP officially drops on December 9.
