The members of I Could Live In Hope came together remotely since the pandemic started, creating together while spread throughout the country. The duo of Nashville’s Travis Trevisan (Tape Deck Mountain) and Minneapolis’ Ronnie Lee (The Cult of Lip) began changing emails while in lockdown, opting to shift from their usual shoegaze heaviness to something closer to slowcore, citing influences such as Bedhead and Low. Set to release their politically charged debut EP, PSA, Not Ok on November 6th via Kentucky’s Somewherecold Records, the date doesn’t feel like a coincidence on what is sure to be a long week following the election results.

Last week the band shared the record’s first single and album opener “USAPSA,” and now we have the premiere of the song’s music video. The song is a slow dripped reminder that everything that is happening in this country is not okay, just in case anyone had forgotten. As the country burns (literally and figuratively), the band remind us that its time for a change. The crawling pace is backed with a tide of distorted guitars, picking up from their shoegaze proclivities in great fashion.
