DIM Things, a new label based out of Brooklyn, was founded last year and has released cassettes from Bad Kiss, Free $$$, and Bat Kid since their inception. Now the label have set their sights on charity and will release, DIM Comp Vol. 1, a collection of both the label’s artists and New York’s DIY up-and-comers (Pom Pom Squad, Should’ve, Top Nachos), with all proceeds donated to RAICES. Due out December 13th, we’ve got the premiere of one of the compilation’s highlights, a new track from the legendary Lost Boy ?, a Brooklyn DIY essential band if there ever was one.

Following the release of last year’s Paranoid Fiction and a never ending string of self-released singles (including this summer’s “Big 13”), Davey Jones has a new and unreleased song on DIM Comp, a collaboration with gobbinjr’s Emma Witmer, a slow burning garage rocker that feels much like a punk song after the tape has been worn to a quarter of the speed from too many plays… at least in the “introduction” (you’ll see, we’re not here to spoil anything). Moving at a leisurely pace with a repeated hook, the song has an anxious feel at its core, but ultimately you can only be so anxious throwing up a peace sign and staying high. The shift and breaks from repetition really explode as a result, and it’s yet another great Lost Boy ? song, full of heart and garage rock joy.
