With a pair of companion albums released in 2018 (Peace Will Grind You Down and Peace Lives), Washington DC’s Luna Honey continue to ride a creative spark on an upcoming split together with Minneapolis’ own Wax Lead. Due out this Friday, October 11th via BLIGHT. Records (Tadzio, Pree, Nyxy Nyx), the trio offer new single “Psalm,” a dark and minimal song that crawls under your skin and burrows in for the long haul.
Creeping along a slinking bass line that sets an ominous tone in half time, this one is ripe for the spookiest time of the year, a depraved reminder of the age old question, “would you know a blessing from a curse?” Synths, guitars, and hard-crackling fuzz swell and envelope the otherwise monotonous rhythm, swallowing the empty spaces, building tension that never really resolves as much as it does engrain itself, never to be shaken from your being.
