The Numerators' full length debut Strange is one of our favorite records of the year so far, a gem of swirling psych, garage punk, and surf rock noise that's bursting with energy and walls of distortion. It's a loud record with blown out moments but it's also an undeniably fun record. There's a radiant charm that shines through no matter how violently the waves of reverb crash over the mix. Some things just don't stay buried. The Numerators have instilled a south fried boogie into their scorched garage ruckus and damnit, it won't be denied.
We're excited to premiere the music video for "Chencho," one of the record's surfier moments and well... breakout dance hit. The video, directed by Lee Jennings & Kelly Gibson, captures the record's unflinching sense of fun with about half a dozen people dancing throughout the state of Texas to the song's warped groove. No matter the time or place, it always feels right as the dancer's edge forward to the song's countrified punk clamor. It's infectious and who knows... you might just want to get up and dance along too as you're watching. We wouldn't blame you.
The Numerators' Strange is out now on Amateur Freak Records.
