Lost Boy ? is a fan of the holidays. With a great Valentine's Day track already in the catalog, Davey Jones is ready for Halloween. It's only been a couple months since the release of the cartoonish conceptual wonder that is Goose Wazoo, but Jones has put down the detective for the moment to focus on the delights of "Haunted House". Things tend to get a bit spookier this time of the year, but don't worry, Lost Boy ? is here for you for the fun and the frights. Written & recorded solo on a BR-8 zip disk by Jones and mastered by Amar Lal (Big Ups), "Haunted House" is full of zany delights and chills. The whole cast is there... a smelly mummy, a squeaky bat, a witch, an evil doctor, a ghost, the devil... it's a regular monster mash delivered in quintessential Lost Boy ? fashion (with exceptional artwork courtesy of Killer Acid).
The song opens with a stuttering snare beat and Jones' surfy guitar pop melodies as he takes a stroll through the house of horrors, observing the monsters while making friends and lending a helping hand. It's all too charming. The night may be dark but Lost Boy ? keep things perpetually light and positive, with catchy verses and impeccable hook that makes timeless use of the classic "I'm not mad, just disappointed".
