Stove Share "Wet Food" + Tour Dates

by Dan Goldin (@post_trash_)

Stove, the latest band from Stove Van Borden aka Steve Hartlett, is getting ready to release Is Stupider, the project's full length debut on November 20th via Exploding In Sound Records. After the premiere of "Jock Dreams" (which features a guest appearance from Two Inch Astronaut's Sam Goblin), the band are now sharing "Wet Food," the upcoming album's second single. An infectiously fuzzy pop song with the same natural sense for melody and songwriting as Pollard or Mascis, Stove is one aspect of Hartlett's personality and "Wet Food," a song about his cat, Steve, allows listeners to build their own meanings. Coming across as a reflection between living with your own reality and the persuit for more, there's little more you could ask for from Is Stupider. Produced by Flagland's Nick Dooley and Dan Francia, the record unfolds with a barrage of different songs and ideas, hitting upon everything between raw shoegaze, blistering punk, stoner fuzz, and lo-fi pop charm. Check out the single below as well as the band's upcoming tour dates with Dirty Dishes.
