There’s a palpable release of satisfaction when the building angst of Daundry’s measured alternating riffs explode into a cleansing wall of noise capable of drowning out even the most persistently gnawing thoughts. The Chicago post-punkers are back with a brighter, tighter sound inflected with the hum and noise of shoegaze fuzz on the lead single “Djork” from their forthcoming LP. Hiding behind druggy, reverbed vocals lies a frenetic energy ready to crack through the incessantly nonchalant facade pushed upon us by big tech and the frontage of social media window dressing.
