Over thirty years ago there was a band known as Oddfellows, a Denton, TX based trio formed by Chris Pulliam, Mark Ryan, and Mike Throneberry. They played some local shows and released one EP before moving on… moving on to form some of the more important power-pop and punk bands of their era including The Marked Men, Radioactivity, Mind Spiders, The Reds, and High Tension Wires among others. It’s a catalog that speaks volumes with an endurance that has lasted decades, but the time has come to return to where it all began, Oddfellows. Written and recorded over a three month period, Oddfellows, the band’s long awaited full length, is set for release on June 11th via Dirtnap (Radioactivity, Personality Cult, O-D-EX) and Wild Honey Records (Crocodiles, Bee Bee Sea, Taxi Girls), a haymaker of raw pop and garage punk rockers.
Following the release of lead single “The Burden,” Oddfellows share “Draw The Line,” a song that fuses rolling momentum with melodic hooks and the punchy sound you might expect from these three musicians. It feels vibrant and earnest, a chance for friends to play music in a new (old) iteration, grooving away any hypothetical rust (as though they hadn’t all been active in the years since). “Draw The Line” careens with the type of soft burning jangle, bouncing and flowing their way throughout the sprightly good times of the song.
