The Pond - "Into the Room" | Post-Trash Premiere

by Pat Pilch (@apg_gomets)

Slowcore pop quartet the pond are gearing up to release A Year As A Cloud on May 9th. From what we’ve heard so far, it’s shaping up to be a doozy. “Into The Room” is the latest single from the Butte-based project’s upcoming full length; a somber, melancholic collection of tracks detailing songwriter Jon Cardiello’s personal reflections and curiosities. The pond’s Elverum-indebted indie rock captures Mount Eerie’s massive and intimate lo-fi with a 2020s slowcore edge. “Into The Room” finds Noelle Huser taking vocal duties on the hazy reflection on presence and cohabitation.

I’ve already listened to this record, and it’s fucking excellent. A Year As A Cloud is out 5/9 via Anything Bagel (US), Wood of Heart (JP), and Hidden Bay Records (FR). Be sure to check out the record when it’s out, but in the meantime, check out “Into The Room” below and catch the pond on tour this spring and fall.
