Way back in March 2017 we had the pleasure of premiering "Speaking Just Fine," the then new single from Philadelphia's most aptly named Bleary Eyed. Seriously, their band name alone does as much justice to describe their sound as anything I'm capable of writing. That song came out on the band's sophomore EP, Zeeke. Since then the band have stayed rather busy, releasing their full length debut, Zach, and playing shows across the region. It's all come full circle though as the band share a new video for "Speaking Just Fine" ahead of their upcoming tour dates with Datenight, Crag Mask, and Junipur.
Sixteen months ago we said "Speaking Just Fine" was "at times hypnotic and others chaotic, the song building upon odd textures with dreamy dissonance and catchy vocals, swelling into a haze of collaged sound and experimental pop layers." This is still true... and the video takes a visual approach to much of the same ambiance. Comprised to grainy tour footage and a whole bunch of good natured fun... and Chicago's bean even makes an appearance. Have fun. Feel youthful. Go see Bleary Eyed on tour.
