Omaha based David Nance has graduated from a Tascam 488 to the A.R.C. Studios and has a new album on the way to show for it. Negative Boogie is due out July 14 on Ba Da Bing Records and we are lucky enough to premiere an upcoming track “Give It Some Time” from the record.
"Give It Some Time" bursts to life with Nance’s “one, two, three, one, two, three” and with a classic almost Irish rock n’ roll feel, takes off. The two minute track shreds, with crashing tambourine over wailing guitar and Nance giving us some great advice. Nance, along with Kevin Donahue and Tom May, started the recording process at sunrise one day and recorded 15 songs by midnight. Their midwestern work ethic is unparalleled. With rare guitars, cowbells, steel drums, vintage amps, Crazy Horse microphones and mellotron, the record is sure to have an eclectic mix of experimentation through instrumentation. Nance made waves last year by winding up on Matador and 12XU Records’ Gerard Cosloy’s best of 2016 list. With an endorsement like that, it’s safe to say this next record will be just as good.
