Stereolab - "Electrically Possessed (Switched On Volume 4)" | Album Review
After remastering, expanding, and re-releasing their back catalog, they proffer the fourth entry in the Switched On series, a sprawling omnium-gatherum of rarities recorded between 1999 and 2008. Electrically Possessed is full of agreeable eccentricity: buoyant beats and blubbering synthesizers; enchanting vocal utterances and bass lines that fit together like Sudoku puzzles.
Ovlov - "Buds" | Album Review
Snail Mail - "Valentine" | Album Review
Whereas Lindsey Jordan’s guitar playing might have taken center stage in the past, and rightfully so, the new release sees her singing voice commanding more attention. Over subtle guitars, Jordan’s voice stands at the forefront of closer “Mia,” and matches the grandiosity of a string section that nearly envelopes the guitar.

Lala Lala - "I Want The Door To Open" | Album Review
On her latest album I Want The Door To Open, Lillie West, the songwriter behind Lala Lala, tackles the challenging task of articulating what it feels like to lose a sense of one’s real self, particularly familiar to the many of us who spend time creating a variety of alternate selves on the internet.
King of Nowhere - "Ctrl" | Post-Trash Premiere
Brooklyn’s King of Nowhere are set to release their self-titled album in January, their first new set of music in about two years. Sun Organ - "Portal" | Album Review
Floating Room - "Shima" | Album Review
La Luz - "La Luz" | Album Review
On their self-titled album, La Luz show us why they are one the best bands surf and psychedelic rock have to offer. Produced by Adrian Younge, La Luz proves that there are still plenty of places to explore in this type of music. The way they allow you to drift in and out of such fuzzy, dreamy, and mesmerizing music is astounding.
13 Necklace - "On and Off" | Album Review
Evans has released music spanning emo, doom metal, and post-rock, but always with a focus on experimental noise. 13 Necklace started as a solo project in conjunction with his not-for-profit label Metaphorest, and left to his own devices, Evans leans more toward slacker rock in the lineage of Alex G, only taken to a hazier, gazier place.
Strawberry Guy - "Sun Outside My Window" | Album Review
What can you expect from an artist that goes under the name Strawberry Guy, giving his new album a title like Sun Outside My Window? Some modern variation of sunshine pop? Something that usually comes from places like the California or Liverpool? If that is what you would expect, that is exactly what you will get from this artist and album.

Tasha - "Tell Me What You Miss The Most" | Album Review
Listening to Tell Me What You Miss The Most is like spending the day with Tasha. The Chicago songwriter’s second album, which infuses earnest indie pop with smooth R&B. Between the bookends of “Bed Song 1” and “Bed Song 2,” Tasha walks us through lakeside contemplation, self-care, and the poignancy of reflecting on a past relationship.

Chicago indie-rock band Izzy True speaks to comfort and new truths on their third album - Our Beautiful Baby World. Joined by Sam Goldstein and Curtis Oren, the band is fronted by Izzy Reidy, who has always explored versatility in her sound, but this album is defined by its experimental arrangements and poignant lyrics.
Hotline TNT - "Nineteen In Love" | Album Review
Olivia W-B - "Minis" | Album Review
Olivia W-B (Rong) wrote Minis in a garage one day and recorded it with Nikita Manin (clarinet) and Andrew Jones (bass) in a living room the next. The trio’s unfettered fifteen minute effort contains seven tracks stemming from similar ideas and mindsets. Living up to its name, each miniature feels like a piece of songwriting occurring in real time.
Dinosaur Jr - "Emptiness at The Sinclair" | Album Review
After releasing a new studio album in 2021, (Sweep into Space), and a documentary (Freakscene: The Story of Dinosaur Jr), this live album represents sort of a Dinosaur Jr career overview so far, complementary to the film. You got it all here, form absolute classics like the always inspiring “Freak Scene” to tracks from the latest album.
Fuzzy Meadows: The Week's Best New Music (November 8th - November 21st)
Shannon and the Clams - "Year of the Spider" | Album Review
With production from The Black Keys' Dan Auerbach, there is a certain pop-ish digestibility that walks a razor's edge, staying wholly true to the humanity of it all. One could imagine hearing this on “the radio,” despite its fantastic rebellion from the quantization-black hole vacuuming up the world of pop today - a feat in and of itself.
